Why is Duel disabled?
It's not real PVP out of Duel.
Without Duel, the game uses PVM formulas, where players defence is halved. Your opponent is considered as a monster and the following formula is being used:
I tested it and can confirm it.
My friend had 557-775 dmg, I had 1022 def and he deals 264 crit dmg with LMB to me. Crit damage is always your max dmg value x1.
So 775-1022/2=264, exactly what we see in game.
This means that my real defence is not 1022 but 511, and this devalues the Agility stat by a lot! It is not worth putting stats in Agility!
Please enable Duel command, so we can duel and test our characters with real stats, not PVM stats.
The problem is, having defence halved, many things lose their value.
Why would I invest stats in Agility if it's better to just putt all in Vitality?
In this situation, BK has big advantage against other characters, because he gets 3 HP for each point in Vit.
Besides that, the strongest and rarest option in the game, becomes worthless. What's the point in haveing "ignore defence" when all opponents have 0 defence and max HP?
Items with ignore defence become ineffective against opponents with low def.
The best solution would be to make the game use the correct formula when attacking a player. Or just make it always use the correct formula, and edit monster damage (make it x2).
But I honestly don't know how easy it is to edit this formula in this version.
This is also a problem for characters that put debuff on opponents defence.
For example MG. Fire Slash reduces opponent's defense by x%.
But if opponents defence is already low, the effectivenes of Fire Slash debuff will be also low.
All this is caused by the fact that investing stats in agility and defence does not help to survive. Therefore, everyone gose for High Vitality, High Damage and low Defence.
In other words, having a proper Duel System is important for game ballance. But even better, wold be to remove defence halvening entirely. Let players have their real defence everytime and just increase monster attack power.
